Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. It's based on the idea that we all have an unseen “life force energy” that flows through our bodies. Reiki can be effective in reducing stress and promoting healing by encouraging a healthy flow of energy.
What does a Reiki session look like?
We'll start by setting intentions for our time together based on what is important for you to address at that moment. You'll lie on a massage table fully clothed, and I will gently place my hands, palms down, on or just above your body in specific energy locations. Throughout the session, I may call attention to various areas of your body or mind or bring you back to your breath. We'll end by debriefing your intention and experience.
What do people experience?
People who receive Reiki report feeling an increase in peace, relaxation, reduction of pain, and an improved sense of well-being. Sometimes, clients experience the energy in the form of sensations like heat, tingling or pulsing, or sensations moving throughout the body, while others do not perceive any change at all.
Who is Reiki for?
Reiki practice may help with a variety of physical and emotional issues, including insomnia, stress, depression, anxiety, digestive issues, and pain. It is a great way to bring awareness to your internal experience and connect to your innate ability to heal.
